To join Appen as Independent Contractor these are general requirements:

If you are from US then you can join Appen as a full time employee but if you are an outsider then you can join Appen as an independent contractor who contracts with Appen to work on a variety of projects for Appen clients. There are different types of projects available from less volume work to high volume work . You can chose any project according to your eligibility and after choosing, you need to first qualify for the project based on the details provided by you. After qualification you can start working on it.

As a contributor, you track the hours you spend working on any given project and invoice Appen for your time. You will get paid for each approved hour that you work. At the end of every month you need to submit your invoice accounting for all the hours you worked during that month. Then after approval of invoice they will pay via Payoneer or PayPal within 30 days of receipt of a valid invoice.
